About The Position

This position will be located at NASA’s Langley Research Center. The successful candidate will join the Engineering team to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Two (2) years of college with courses in computer science, mathematics, or other related engineering courses is preferred, plus four (4) years of related engineering experience with some expertise in formulating data for presentation.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids.
  • Should be able to use computing technology for problem analysis and solutions.
  • Perform electrical power/controls design assignments and work from the designs of others.
  • Compile data, perform elementary design computations, prepare estimates (design and construction), prepare designs in electrical facilities and utilities power distribution, lighting, fire alarm system, telephone and communication plans, controls schematics and interconnection diagrams, wiring diagrams, consult manufacturers, evaluate materials, write/edit specifications, provide professional electrical power /controls engineering support within allocated task resources, and work under supervision.
  • AutoCAD experience in release 2024 or better and REVIT experience in release 2024 is required.

  • Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries; as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.

Responsibilities

  • Independent preparation of requirements, computation/analyses, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and technical reports for Process System designs.
  • Selects and applies engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity.
  • Oversight of the activities of designers and drafters engaged in the design of NASA facility mechanical systems, to ensure the designs conform to recognized codes and standards and with customer requirements for a variety of government and industrial facility types.
  • Provide technical quality reviews and ensure adherence to Quality Control processes, Codes and Standards, ultimately resulting in the Highest Quality deliverables to NASA Langley.
