About The Position

The Senior Designer is responsible for designing direct mail assets with refined design and typography, attention to detail, and flawless delivery. In addition, the designer will be responsible for developing high-impact concepts, and ensuring brand consistency across multiple touchpoints. This role requires strong storytelling, design thinking, and collaboration skills to produce work that is both strategically sound and visually compelling.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of print design experience, preferably within retail, agency, or brand consulting environments and a proven track record designing for retail campaigns, seasonal promotions, packaging, signage, and in-store marketing materials.
  • Must demonstrate retail or consumer brand work — campaigns, promotional materials, packaging, or signage across print channels.

Responsibilities

  • Follows and can adapt brand guidelines and design systems across multiple touchpoints, in print and digital media. Can author brand guidelines and create design systems for both.
  • Advanced typography, layout, composition skills.
  • Advanced photo retouching skills.
  • Advanced print process/print production experience.
  • Understands client asks, tracks client changes, delivers on client expectations.
  • Understands accessibility in design.
  • Leads and presents high-impact, visually compelling, emotionally resonant concepts that surpass client standards, and challenge conventional thinking, in the print space.
  • Senior-level design craft, detail-oriented, understands design theory, follows latest design trends.
  • Can think beyond expected solutions. Pushes past surface-level aesthetics to create work with depth, meaning, and long-term impact.
  • Can think strategically, use storytelling, and understand user experience and content narrative/hierarchy.
  • Wide experience across digital and print channels, and understands the differences between them.
  • Technical proficiency in print: able to deliver productions files that are correct to spec: understanding pre-press, printer templates, image formats, ink mix, CMYK, paper, etc.
  • Technical proficiency in digital: able to work in Figma, understanding pixel densities (1x versus 2x), animated gifs, understanding Hex codes, rudimentary understanding of CMS and HTML.
  • Delivers without errors, with QA assistance.
  • Is proficient with software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
  • Owns multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills, file management, and minimal oversight.
  • Proactive; can anticipate problems ahead of time.
  • Leads and levels up junior designers, can give design feedback, can lead a small (1–3 person) junior design team.
  • Can collaborate with copywriters, strategists, production artists, account, and project managers.
  • Can own, develop, and author presentation decks, strong ability to articulate and defend conceptual ideas in presentations.
