Northrop Grumman is hiring a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to develop and field target tracking and sensor fusion systems for advanced multifunction RF subsystems. The work supports next-generation radar systems and air-superiority platforms from development through production. The engineer will analyze, shape, and relate data from multiple modes, including long-range search and track radar waveforms and electronic surveillance measure returns. Early in the system lifecycle, the engineer will develop parametric representations, visualizations, and data-driven analyses to support sensor requirements definition and use-case validation. The role also supports integration of sensor modes and trackers across digital simulation environments, sensor laboratories, and specially modified test aircraft. The engineer will work with customers and systems, hardware, and software teams to balance functional and performance requirements with other sensor functionality and enable multifunction operation. The role is primarily an individual-contributor position focused on the sustained performance and minor adaptation of established algorithms and systems. Under general supervision, the engineer maintains existing functionality and makes incremental improvements within defined boundaries, using existing documentation such as Interface Control Documents. Foundational MATLAB and C++ skills are used for analysis and code modifications. The position requires up to 100% on-site work, travel 10% of the time, an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, and the ability to obtain Special Program Access before starting. Relocation assistance may be available. The position is contingent on successful transfer of an active Secret Clearance and obtaining Special Program Access.
