About The Position

Solipsys, Managed by Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. Solipsys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace/RTX and is an industry leader in the development of command and control software systems, operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced business environment with both commercial and Government customers. In this position, you will serve as a Systems Engineer with a focus on systems modeling and analysis on challenging software development projects, engaged with advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Visualization technologies. The Mission Systems team at Collins Aerospace helps civilian, military, and government customers complete complex missions, providing intelligent and secure communications, missionized systems for specialized aircraft and spacecraft, and collaborative space solutions. This position is located in Fulton, MD and does require some travel to customer sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Systems Analyst/System Engineer in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Working knowledge of developing system models and simulations, and developing complex algorithmic solutions in a tool such as MATLAB
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering related discipline
  • Experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems
  • Experience with any of the following: radar sensor integration, track filtering and track management techniques and algorithms, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies

Responsibilities

  • Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V)
  • Work as a team member in the development of new mathematical algorithms for software products
  • Provide engineering expertise in the area of complex mathematics, design analysis, modeling and simulation, system performance testing
  • Serve as Technical Leader of small to medium engineering development teams
  • Some travel
