About The Position

The Program Management Excellence (PMX) team within the Maritime Sector is looking to fill a PMX role. The successful candidate should be an experienced Program Manager or Proposal Manager who is well-versed in People, Process, and Tools best practices within the Aerospace & Defense industry. The candidate will work effectively with the other members of the Maritime PMX staff, functional partners and the sector program teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience or post-graduate degree and 13 years of experience or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance which requires US citizenship
10+ years of prior program management, proposal management, program planning, and EVMS experience
Experience working DoD projects in a Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) environment

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary program management excellence leader for high-visibility, high-risk "Red Programs," driving recovery, turnaround, and performance improvement initiatives
Partner with program managers and cross-functional teams to assess root causes of program challenges and develop actionable recovery plans
Establish and drive Independent Review processes for struggling programs and expand across entire Sector to drive consistency in management rigor
Mentor and coach program teams in risk management, schedule recovery, cost control, and stakeholder engagement
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track program health and effectiveness of recovery actions
Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement activities to prevent recurrence of program issues across the organization
Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence in program execution, especially in underperforming or at-risk programs
Partner with the broader PMX organization on the implementation of program management best practices, tools, and processes
