About The Position

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Principal, Marketing Strategic Finance & Analytics to join their Strategic Finance & Analytics (SFA) team. This team is responsible for delivering financial strategy, insights, and measurement across planning, marketing, pricing, and global markets. They partner cross-functionally to optimize investments, drive accountability, and inform strategic decisions. The role will focus on supporting and evolving the Marketing organization's budget, planning, and analytics, with a charter to evolve growth strategy across Host and Guest communities. The Marketing team drives platform growth by engaging target audiences through product and performance campaigns.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant business and analytics experience, ideally with a mix of financial planning, management consulting, and/or analytics experience.
  • Technical experience in financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • Ability to work and influence cross-functionally, partnering across internal (marketing, data science, finance) and external partners.
  • Strong communication skills with audiences at various analytical levels.
  • Experience working with large data sets and synthesizing them into a story with recommendations.
  • Advanced presentation skills (Google Docs, Keynote, Excel).
  • Grasp of current social networking systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the marketing ecosystem (e.g., media agency, content providers, or brands).
  • Familiarity with marketing channels and KPIs, acquisition funnel analysis, and campaign effectiveness evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategy discussions on spend allocation & pacing between Finance and Marketing leadership.
  • Partner with Financial Operations to track Marketing media and production budgets to inform strategic allocations.
  • Establish KPI framework for marketing channels and campaigns, and set/monitor KPI targets, OKRs, and efficiency goals.
  • Develop ROI calculation methodologies with Data Science and Research, and lead holistic campaign reviews, accounting for qualitative and quantitative impacts.
  • Support weekly reporting needs from Marketing and Hosting organizations, as well as quarterly campaign performance reviews.
  • Conduct deep dives into business trends and drivers of variance, independently leading data extraction, analysis, visualization, and presentation.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Marketing, and Hosting leadership to develop strategy and support business performance.
