About The Position

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal IT Systems Integration professional to support a Navy Shore Datacenter program. The role serves as the technical and programmatic liaison between external tactical and non-tactical Mission Owners, validating requirements, engaging engineering teams, and streamlining the process for onboarding systems to the Shore Base Navy Datacenter. This is a remote role in Norfolk, Virginia, and candidates must be local to the area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, Programming, or a related technical discipline, and 14 years or more of relevant experience; equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• At least 7 years of professional systems integration experience, including hands-on experience involving the Navy Networks technical stack.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand customer requirements and Shore Based architecture capabilities to support successful integration.
• Familiarity with Navy architecture, transport options, and customer objectives.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have an active Secret clearance at the start of employment.
• Must be local to the Norfolk, Virginia area.

• Deep operational knowledge of Navy systems.
• Experience with configuration management and automated deployment pipelines.
• Excellent technical writing skills for documenting repeatable integration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration paths for tactical and non-tactical systems seeking transport and critical services through Shore Based Datacenter sites.
• Guide Mission Owners through the onboarding process, update intake forms, and coordinate risk assessments.
• Validate requirements for the datacenter environment and prospective customers to support seamless transitions and maintain documentation.
• Present programmatic analysis and recommendations to the Engineering team and Change Review Boards (CRBs).
• Coordinate with assessment engineers to ensure accreditation compliance and system test readiness.
• Understand the current onboarding process and develop process improvements to streamline engineering team involvement.
