About The Position

Atlassian's Rovo Experiences & Growth organization creates the customer-facing experiences that help people find, understand, and act on their organization's knowledge. Our teams work across Rovo Chat, Rovo Search, Growth, and Rovo Apps & Clients, delivering trusted, consistent AI experiences across web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions while helping customers make Rovo part of their daily work.

Requirements

15+ years of experience in software engineering, with deep expertise in platform and product engineering at scale.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to influence and partner across teams.
Deep product engineering background, ideally with experience in platform environments at scale.
Full stack experience preferred, or strong back-end skills with front-end capability.
Proven ability to architect, build, and operate large-scale, distributed systems and user-facing applications.
Strong product mindset and UX sensibility.
Experience leading multi-year, cross-org technical initiatives that drive business outcomes.
Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy and architecture across Rovo Chat, Rovo Search, Growth, and Rovo Apps & Clients, ensuring our experiences are scalable, reliable, secure, and cohesive.
Shape the convergence of Search and Chat, creating shared patterns and capabilities that enable users to retrieve information, understand context, continue through multi-step interactions, and take action.
Drive the development of rich, reusable experience foundations that work across Atlassian products and connected third-party tools, reducing fragmentation and enabling teams to move faster.
Partner with product, design, data science, machine learning, and engineering leaders to define and deliver a roadmap of high-impact Rovo experiences.
Enable sustainable growth by creating technical foundations for rapid experimentation, contextual activation, personalization, measurement, and continuous improvement.
Lead complex, cross-organizational initiatives, managing technical negotiations and dependencies while balancing deep project involvement with long-term strategic thinking.
Raise the bar for quality, performance, trust, and operational excellence across Rovo’s customer-facing experiences.
Standardize and mechanize how AI experiences are developed and deployed, moving from one-off implementations toward scalable, composable, and repeatable approaches.
Mentor senior engineers, influence engineering culture, and champion technical excellence, inclusive collaboration, and continuous learning.
