Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field followed by ten years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Senior Principal Engineer (Rotating Equipment)-related occupation.
  • Oil and gas, and petrochemicals related engineering experience, including experience in olefins (ethylene) and LNG.
  • Experience in rotating equipment including specification, evaluation of vendor bids, procurement, and vendor document review of pumps and compressors.
  • Working with large compressors and their drivers (steam turbines, gas turbines, electric motors).
  • Preparing material requisitions for equipment and engineering design packages.
  • Evaluation of Technical Bid Tabulations and Tender offers.
  • Application of applicable industry standards including API 610, 611, 616, 617, and 618.
  • EPC Project Management.
  • Construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the scope of work for PDP (Process Design Package), FEED, (Front End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering projects.
  • Prepare Mechanical manhour estimates for proposals for projects in various technologies including olefins, LNG, carbon capture and “blue” hydrogen and ammonia.
  • Prepare requisitions for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and expanders.
  • Develop rotating equipment specifications and/or review client specifications.
  • Assist with studies on rotating and/or packaged equipment as required.
  • Produce mechanical datasheets for pumps and compressors, as well as auxiliaries such as turbines, gearboxes, electric motors, and lube oil systems.
  • Review and manage submitted vendor drawings and other documentation.
  • Provide engineering support by answering technical questions and requests.
  • Identify scope changes or deviations and notify project team.
  • Provide updates to the schedule and report progress to the project controls team.
  • Ensure conformance to applicable government regulations, engineering codes and standards as well as company QA system, policies, and procedures.
