In the domain of Rotating Machinery (Centrifugal compressors, Cryogenic expanders, pumps, and Reciprocating compressors), support plant operations, with additional capability on process, operational troubleshooting, and Design within the perimeter of the CTE (Center for Technical Expertise) with primary responsibilities in Large Industries USA, and Canada, and additional support to Mexico and Trinidad as well as Electronics and Airgas business lines. Responsibilities include participation in pre TAR planning, TAR supervision and execution, follow up reports and possible external shop monitoring of components to make repair recommendations and monitor quality control. Requirements

BS Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required with +15 years of rotating machinery experience
Detailed knowledge of various types of compressors, turbines, pumps, and fan designs and maintenance
Solution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Lubrication knowledge and expertise
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to perform under stress and time constraints
Comfortable in both corporate and plant environments
Ability to effectively work within a diverse, international organization
Can be consulted 24/7 by Plant Managers and Maintenance personnel
Able to wear FRC clothing and other PPE
Advanced skills with Google suite of tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.)
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related operational and safety trainings

Nice To Haves

Detailed knowledge of Oxygen Compression Equipment and Oxygen Cleanliness procedures and documentation requirements (preferable)

Responsibilities

Interpret regulatory requirements, industry codes, Group Industrial Policy, and IMS documents in order to implement and maintain compliant operations.
Support the preparation of CTE Guidance Documents for selected Group documents (GTs and GEs)
Review selected RCA reports for both Process Safety and Reliability incidents.
Lead and/or participate in selected incident investigations
Provide leadership and guidance to drive continuous improvement in reliability and efficiency of rotating equipment
Support the development of selected risk assessments for new and existing assets and in the implementation of subsequent action plans
Support selected entity and Group level LI IMS audits in the Americas Hub as technical auditor as it pertains to rotating machinery technology
Participate in the Air Liquide Group level working groups developing GTs in the rotating machinery technology area
Ability to troubleshoot design problems or calculations from OEM which lead to improper operational parameters, or consistent downtime.
Support organization for the execution of new capital projects.
Act as owner's representative for the design reviews as required
Provide engineering with technical support and guidance for Plant Projects.
Serve as design authority as required.
Review and provide risk assessment for proposed changes to existing rotating machinery via Management of Change (MOC) process
In cooperation with E&C, develop standard equipment specification and engineering practices for rotating machinery
Ensure subsidiary compliance with directives from AL Group related to rotating machinery
Provide operations support to all entities in regards to rotating machinery
Collaborate with Large Rotating machinery vendors and OEM’s, ensuring quality control in repairs, and witness assembly and testing of equipment as required.
Respond to urgent rotating machinery issues
Applies process understanding and control systems strategies in order to improve reliability and/or efficiency and through support of CTE’s Process Control Technology department.
Recommend process and cost savings improvement opportunities.
As required, support the design and implementation of these cost saving ideas
Issue advisories to spread Best Practices and prevent recurrence of incidents
Work closely with entity Engineering disciplines to assure latest technology is identified and deployed
When requested, review plant level operating procedures (SOP) for scope, technical accuracy and best practice identification
Be aware of Group initiatives for rotating machinery technology domain as these are provided from Group level organizations.
Provide interpretation to entities for implementation and participate in the development of such programs
Provide support for Group programs for rotating machinery technology including developing the implementation plan together with the entities and monitoring compliance status
Participate strongly in Americas Rotating Machinery Technology KNOE and if assigned, participate in WW CoP
Build a documented knowledge base of Rotating Machinery technology operational expertise
Provide technical content and training for Rotating Machinery technology
Mentor and support developing employees to expand knowledge sharing; disseminate rather than protect information.
Act as coach for proteges (assigned or otherwise)
Attend and contribute to selected project development meetings
Provide technical support to CI during the development and execution of new Rotating Machinery capital projects
