About The Position

PTC Professional Services is building a formal strategy for AI in service delivery and seeks a Senior Principal AI Solutions Architect to lead that work. As the Professional Services AI subject matter expert for the Americas, this person will define how teams use AI on projects, build their fluency in AI capabilities within PTC products, and help customers take AI solutions from concept to production. The role offers the opportunity to shape the practice and collaborate with AI centers of excellence across PTC globally.

The position reports to the Vice President of Americas Professional Services and works across Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Product Management, R&D, and PTC’s other AI teams. Its primary focus is building PTC’s AI delivery practice, including strategy, standards, best practices, reusable assets, reference architectures, service offerings, team enablement, and mentoring. The role also supports strategic pre-sales opportunities and serves as architectural lead on selected customer AI implementations. The balance between practice-building and customer engagements will shift as the practice matures.

Requirements

• 10+ years in enterprise software consulting, solution architecture, professional services, or systems engineering, including recent years focused on AI.
• Deep, hands-on AI expertise, including LLMs, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, and vector databases (e.g., LangChain/LangGraph).
• A track record of taking AI solutions from concept to production.
• AI experience gained in a professional services organization or in the manufacturing space.
• Experience supporting both pre-sales pursuits and implementation delivery.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, plus Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise, data, and cloud architecture, API integration, and security and governance.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, and comfort working in an evolving environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship from PTC.

Nice To Haves

• Industry experience in manufacturing, industrial products, automotive, aerospace and defense, medical devices, high tech, or field service.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, SLM, ALM, or Digital Thread initiatives.
• Experience with large-scale data technologies such as Spark or Kafka, and data science experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategy for using AI in Professional Services project delivery.
• Establish AI delivery standards, best practices for AI productivity, reusable assets, reference architectures, and AI-focused service offerings.
• Build Professional Services teams’ fluency in PTC AI product capabilities through enablement programs.
• Mentor Solution Architects, Consultants, Business Solutions Managers, and Project/Program Managers.
• Partner with Sales and Solution Consulting on strategic AI pre-sales opportunities.
• Run discovery workshops, define use cases and success criteria, validate technical feasibility, and support scoping, estimates, statements of work, and roadmaps.
• Serve as architectural lead on selected AI implementations.
• Design end-to-end solutions across customer environments and PTC platforms, conduct architecture reviews, and resolve complex technical roadblocks.
• Work across Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Product Management, R&D, and PTC’s other AI teams.
