About The Position

Lead product pricing strategy, decision-making, governance and execution for assigned portfolios to deliver profitable growth, strengthen customer and dealer outcomes, and translate market, competitive, customer, cost and performance insights into disciplined pricing decisions and actions. The Product Pricing Manager is accountable for leading an assigned product portfolio within Global Parts Pricing and for translating Caterpillar’s Strategic Plan for Profitable Growth into measurable pricing outcomes. The role operates as an enterprise business partner across industries, distribution, product groups, regional teams, Finance, Tax, Legal, IT and Cat Digital, bringing objective insights, clear governance and strong execution discipline to pricing decisions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership across matrixed, global organizations and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Pricing, finance, marketing, product management, strategy or related business experience.
  • Ability to lead transformation, simplify processes and adopt digital, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities responsibly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level decision support.
  • Commitment to Caterpillar values, enterprise compliance, confidentiality and responsible stewardship of data.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of coaching, developing, and leading high-performing teams.
  • 3+ years of product pricing, strategic pricing, or pricing management experience.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate market dynamics and translate insights into profitable growth opportunities.
  • Advanced analytical and digital capabilities, including experience with data analytics, automation, business intelligence tools, and modern data environments such as Snowflake.
  • Experience working within global, geographically dispersed organizations and collaborating effectively across regions, cultures, and time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and intercultural communication skills, with the ability to influence across matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Enable long-term profitable growth by shaping and executing portfolio pricing strategies that balance customer value, competitiveness, volume, revenue, margin and market economics.
  • Make informed pricing decisions by integrating market intelligence, competitive studies, customer and dealer signals, cost evolution, profitability data and price-action performance.
  • Lead end-to-end price reviews from opportunity identification and prioritization through recommendation, approval, implementation, monitoring and corrective action.
  • Strengthen enterprise pricing governance through clear decision rights, documented rationale, policy compliance, robust controls and timely escalation of material risks or opportunities.
  • Partner across Caterpillar to connect product, services, rental and dealer growth priorities with differentiated pricing and go-to-market actions.
  • Advance pricing transformation by embedding common processes, digital platforms, analytics, automation and AI-enabled ways of working that improve speed, quality, transparency and scalability.
  • Build a closed feedback loop that measures results after implementation, identifies leakage or unintended outcomes, and drives timely adjustment of price actions.
  • Develop a high-performing, inclusive and accountable team through clear priorities, coaching, recognition, capability building and career development.
  • Lead global product pricing for Electronics & Electrical, Structural Components and Tools, Hose & Couplings parts, while overseeing the New Parts Pricing team and ensuring timely, accurate, and governance-compliant pricing for new part introductions.
  • Own end-to-end portfolio pricing strategy, price reviews, execution, governance, and performance monitoring for the assigned product scope.
  • Lead EAME regional pricing governance, including Sales Area strategy, price changes, dealer and market alignment, and regional initiatives.
  • Lead strategic initiatives including Pricing Rational Strategy, Transportation and Insurance adjustments, Sales Area optimization, and CES expansion.
  • Manage and develop the assigned pricing team, set priorities, and coordinate with product groups, regional teams, industry partners, and enabling functions.
  • Define the pricing ambition, priorities and roadmap for the assigned portfolio, aligned with enterprise, segment and product strategies.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities using customer value, competitive position, elasticity, cost, profitability and growth potential.
  • Provide clear executive recommendations, including alternatives, trade-offs, risks, expected outcomes and implementation requirements.
  • Own the quality, pace and consistency of price-review execution and major price-change readiness.
  • Ensure decisions comply with delegated authority, competition law, tax, transfer-pricing, financial-control and records-management requirements.
  • Coordinate implementation across systems, regions and stakeholders, with clear ownership, milestones and issue resolution.
  • Establish relevant measures of pricing effectiveness and routinely review realized results against the approved business case.
  • Use Price Action Monitoring and other enterprise analytics to identify performance gaps, price leakage and corrective actions.
  • Communicate progress, decisions and outcomes through concise, data-driven leadership reporting.
  • Build strong partnerships with product groups, industries, distribution divisions, dealers and enabling functions to resolve dependencies and accelerate outcomes.
  • Represent Global Parts Pricing in cross-enterprise initiatives and ensure pricing is integrated early in growth and portfolio decisions.
  • Champion standard work, automation, CPPS, OneFlow and connected data capabilities to simplify work and improve decision quality.
  • Set clear goals and accountability, allocate resources to the highest-value work and maintain an effective operating rhythm.
  • Coach team members in commercial judgment, analytics, stakeholder influence, governance and executive communication.
