About The Position

The Sr. Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting and monitoring Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship (PWA) compliance requirements associated with federal tax credit programs. This role works closely with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractors, third-party compliance vendors, project teams, and auditors to ensure required documentation is obtained, reviewed, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements. The position serves as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, identifies compliance risks, supports audit activities, analyzes contractor data, and helps maintain audit-ready records. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills, along with experience in compliance, auditing, finance, and advanced Excel reporting.

Requirements

  • 5-6+ years of relevant exempt experience in directly related field. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills, along with experience in compliance, auditing, finance, and advanced Excel reporting.
  • Experience in compliance, auditing, accounting, tax, construction, or project administration.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Understanding of financial concepts, internal controls, and audit processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contractor compliance with PWA requirements.
  • Coordinate with EPCs and third-party compliance partners to collect and review supporting documentation.
  • Identify and resolve compliance issues, documentation gaps, and potential penalty exposures.
  • Analyze compliance data and prepare reports, metrics, and status updates.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, vendors, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, and Project teams to support compliance objectives.
  • Recommend process improvements and strengthen compliance controls.
