We are seeking a Senior Presales Systems Engineer to join our Cloud Go-to-Market organization. This role is ideal for a customer-facing technical leader who thrives in dynamic environments and can connect business priorities to practical architecture and solution outcomes. This position will primarily focus on campus and branch networking, including wired and wireless infrastructure, SD-WAN, security, and network access control solutions. This includes traditional enterprise environments as well as industrial campuses, warehouse environments, manufacturing locations, and distributed branch deployments. The ideal candidate will bring strong depth in campus and branch use cases while also offering working knowledge and credibility across data center and WAN architectures, enabling them to contribute across broader customer discussions and multi-domain opportunities. This role will support customers across the full HPE Networking portfolio, including Juniper, Aruba, Mist, Silver Peak, and related networking, security, automation, and AI-driven operations solutions. The preferred candidate will be based in a major metropolitan area or technology hub and be comfortable traveling to customer locations primarily throughout the United States, with occasional international travel as needed. Working closely with Account Managers, partners, overlays, and internal technical teams, this SE will qualify opportunities, shape technical strategy, lead customer-facing discovery, design differentiated solutions, and drive complex opportunities through to closure. Success in this role requires strong technical depth, consultative selling ability, executive presence, and the ability to build credibility with both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Significant pre-sales systems engineering, solution consulting, or related customer-facing experience in enterprise or cloud-focused environments
  • Deep experience in campus and branch networking, including wired, wireless, SD-WAN, security, and network access control
  • Experience with network access security solutions such as HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, or similar platforms
  • Solid working knowledge of data center and WAN technologies; direct hands-on experience in either or both is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting complex customer environments and translating technical capabilities into business value
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to influence both technical and business audiences
  • Experience leading technical sales cycles, including discovery, technical validation, solution positioning, and proof-of-concept execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage from engineer to executive level
  • A track record of building trusted customer relationships and partnering effectively with sales, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous, and highly competitive markets
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations primarily throughout the United States, with occasional international travel

  • Experience with campus switching, wireless, branch networking, SD-WAN, SASE, NAC, security, data center networking, and WAN/routing

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior pre-sales technical advisor for assigned cloud-scale customers, with primary emphasis on campus, branch, SD-WAN, security, and access control architectures
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, qualify, and advance opportunities from discovery through close
  • Lead customer discovery and translate business, operational, and technical requirements into solution architectures and roadmaps
  • Design and present solutions spanning wired and wireless campus networking, branch networking, SD-WAN, security, NAC, automation, and cloud-managed operations
  • Support customer conversations involving traditional enterprise environments as well as industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, and distributed site requirements
  • Contribute meaningfully to broader discussions involving data center and WAN architectures, and coordinate with domain specialists where appropriate
  • Represent and position the full HPE Networking portfolio, including Juniper, Aruba, Mist, Silver Peak, and related networking solutions
  • Build and deliver technical proposals, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements
  • Articulate HPE Networking differentiation and position solutions effectively against competitive alternatives
  • Engage with internal engineering, product management, services, and partner teams to remove blockers and align solutions to customer outcomes
  • Maintain strong awareness of market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies relevant to cloud-driven customer environments
  • Develop trusted relationships with customer engineers, architects, operations leaders, and decision-makers
  • Support channel and partner engagement where applicable to expand reach and influence within accounts
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, internal meetings, and strategic events
