About The Position

You will join the team at The Orange Door Bentleigh. Work within a specialist Child Wellbeing discipline within an Integrated Practice Framework to deliver Hub services, whilst applying a holistic lens across the whole family system. As a senior practitioner at the Orange Door you will be the go to for timely consulting, advice or support on matters relating to child wellbeing. Your deep knowledge and extensive experience working with vulnerable families particularly children will be needed to ensure the integrated team are able to appropriately assess high levels of associated risk and act accordingly. This is primarily a phone-based role or system based role, where your practice skills are applied through conversation, risk assessment, planning and consult. You will work collaboratively as part of an integrated practice approach to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns through the provision of: Screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions; Allocation services and coordination of referrals; Collaborative working with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning, including participating in case conferences, meetings and the resolution of stakeholder issues.

Requirements

  • Experience working with parents, carers and children.
  • Leadership, advise and support skills.
  • Ability to work through an intersectional lens.
  • Ability to work with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues.
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
  • Ability to identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of clients in a whole of family approach.
  • Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master’s Degrees are required. If you hold a Diploma, then you will need to complete further study and complete a higher level of education within the next 10 years.
