Senior Practice Builder - Transportation/Traffic
About The Position
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Practice Builder to expand our Transportation Planning/Traffic practice in Oakland, California (CA)! This role involves creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice. The successful candidate will assist in marketing and business development efforts with existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects. Beyond serving existing clients, there is an ability to pursue personal passions, leads, and clients. Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, and fostering open communication. Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor. The candidate will be given significant autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business, with the potential for rewards through an impressive bonus program and advancement to ownership.
Requirements
- 15+ years of transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design experience
- Registered Professional Engineer or Planner (PE/AICP) in the state of CA
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
