About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Leader to expand our Transportation Planning/Traffic practice in the Colorado Springs, CO market! This role involves entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the local area and beyond. The Practice Leader will assist in marketing and business development efforts with existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects with our growing team of transportation professionals. Beyond serving existing clients, the candidate will have the ability to pursue their own passions, leads, and clients. Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, and building and maintaining positive client relationships. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business, with success leading to rewards of an impressive bonus program and potential to advance to ownership.

Requirements

15+ years of transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, roadway design and/or ITS planning and design experience
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area
Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
