About The Position

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to play a leading role in the architecture, design, and delivery of advanced power conversion technologies. This position is responsible not only for executing complex power electronics designs, but also for providing technical leadership, influencing system-level decisions, and driving design excellence across programs and stakeholders. The Power Electronics and Battery Center of Excellence accelerates Eaton’s growth through scalable technology platforms, reusable hardware building blocks, and standardized design methodologies adopted across multiple businesses. In this role, the Senior Engineer operates as a technical authority and integrator, enabling robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions that shorten time to market and elevate product performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power electronics and electronic circuit design, analysis, and verification.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or owning significant portions of complex engineering designs or programs.
  • Experience with system-level power architecture design and platform-based development.
  • Strong understanding of thermal management, magnetics, and electromechanical integration.
  • Proven ability to influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience supporting products through manufacturing ramp-up and field issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end ownership of complex power electronics subsystems or platforms, from concept through release and production support.
  • Architect, design, model, simulate, and validate power electronics solutions, including analog and digital circuits, for power conversion and circuit protection applications.
  • Define and cascade technical requirements at the system and sub-system level; ensure alignment with product, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Serve as a key technical contributor on cross-functional teams, collaborating with mechanical, PCB layout, firmware, manufacturing, and quality engineers to ensure integrated and optimized designs.
  • Drive design optimization trade-offs (performance, efficiency, size, cost, reliability, and manufacturability) using data-driven analysis and engineering judgment.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, design reviews, failure analyses, validation reports, and executive-level technical presentations.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and design review support to less-experienced engineers within the team or broader CoE.
  • Support technology roadmap development by evaluating emerging technologies, components, and architectures relevant to Eaton’s power electronics platforms.
  • Interface with suppliers and external partners on component selection, design collaboration, and technical issue resolution.
