We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our Research & Innovation team, driving the development of next-generation power conversion technologies for grid-scale energy systems. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of industry experience in power electronics OR Master Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8+ years of industry experience in power electronics
  • 5 years of experience designing, building, and testing power converter circuits from simulation through hardware validation
  • 5 years of expertise in power device physics and characteristics, including silicon and wide-bandgap (SiC, GaN) semiconductors
  • 5 years of experience in power electronics modeling and simulation (e.g., PLECS, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, FEA tools)
  • 5+ years hands-on experience designing or testing power converters at 1+ MW scale

Nice To Haves

  • Experience spanning R&D, product development, and manufacturing environments
  • Medium-voltage and high-voltage power converter design experience
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards, PPE requirements, and safe work practices in high-voltage labs
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Adaptable and collaborative in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, simulate, and validate power semiconductor devices and converter circuits using industry-standard tools (PLECS, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, FEA)
  • Develop gate driver circuits and associated power supplies for high-performance switching applications
  • Lead and contribute to projects from concept through prototype, testing, and technology transfer
  • Define and execute test procedures for power devices and converters, ensuring rigorous validation
  • Document innovations through patents, technical reports, and peer-reviewed publications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global business units, academic partners, and external customers to advance power electronics solutions
  • Stay current with emerging power electronics technologies and identify new applications for the business
