Senior Power BI Technical Consultant
About The Position
As a Senior Technical Consultant, Power BI, you will design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and enterprise reporting solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights. You will build scalable semantic models, translate business requirements into technical designs and intuitive reporting experiences, and create analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Dataflows, Azure Synapse, and related Microsoft data services. The role includes integrating data from Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Dataverse, and other enterprise sources, as well as developing calculations and transformations using DAX, SQL, and Power Query M. You will engage directly with clients and stakeholders throughout delivery, support testing and go-live activities, and develop paginated and operational reports for financial, billing, project, accounts receivable, and general ledger needs. You will also promote development and modeling best practices, document solutions, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other consultants.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing Microsoft Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models in enterprise environments.
- Advanced experience with DAX, SQL, Power Query M, data modeling, and data transformation concepts.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical reporting and analytics solutions.
- Experience supporting solutions across requirements, development, testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, and go-live.
- Experience working directly with clients and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric capabilities such as OneLake, Dataflows, or Fabric semantic models.
- Experience with Azure Synapse, data warehousing, ETL, or modern analytics architecture.
- Experience integrating Power BI with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Dataverse, or comparable enterprise applications.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership.
- Ability to troubleshoot data, model, performance, and reporting issues using a structured, analytical approach.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain focus on deadlines, quality, and client outcomes.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with paginated reports or SSRS.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, and modern development or deployment practices.
- Experience with financial, project, billing, accounts receivable, or general ledger reporting.
- Ability to guide and mentor other consultants and apply new Microsoft data capabilities to client needs.
Responsibilities

- Design and implement analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Dataflows, Azure Synapse, and related Microsoft data services.
- Develop reporting solutions integrating Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Dataverse, and other enterprise data sources.
- Create calculations, data transformations, and reporting logic using DAX, SQL, and Power Query M.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions and collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams throughout delivery.
- Support user acceptance testing, deployment validation, go-live readiness, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live activities.
- Develop paginated and operational reporting for financial, billing, project, accounts receivable, and general ledger needs.
- Establish and promote best practices for report development, semantic modeling, documentation, quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other consultants.
