About The Position

The Senior Portfolio Manager helps grow and protect the Bank’s commercial relationships by underwriting credit opportunities, managing a portfolio of mature loan and deposit relationships, and providing responsive client service. This role brings together credit judgment, relationship management, and business development to support sound decisions, client retention, and responsible portfolio growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of related lending, credit, portfolio management, or comparable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax-return analysis, balance sheets, income statements, and cash-flow analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex credit requests, identify risk, draw sound conclusions, and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Working knowledge of commercial loan documentation and the ability to manage a high volume of work from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and financial-analysis software.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, organization, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to protect confidential Bank and client information and meet applicable regulatory and policy requirements.

  • Experience partnering across branch, operations, cash management, and other product teams to deliver coordinated client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and recommend new loans, credit lines, and credit actions in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and lending guidelines.
  • Manage a portfolio of mature loan and deposit relationships, focusing on client retention, cross-selling, and responsible growth.
  • Assess financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and other information to determine creditworthiness and identify potential risk.
  • Keep credit files complete, accurate, and ready for Credit Administration and regulatory review, including timely resolution of underwriting conditions and pre-funding quality-control requirements.
  • Coordinate the lending process from initial request through closing so clients and internal partners receive timely decisions, and approved transactions are completed accurately.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with borrowers, advisors, branch teams, operations, cash management, and other Bank product experts.
  • Develop new loan and deposit relationships and represent the Bank at relevant marketing and industry events.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies.
