About The Position

Oakworth Capital Bank is expanding and has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham, AL! We are looking for a full-time Sr. Portfolio Manager, Investments, that will play a vital role in supporting our business goals and overall vision. The Sr. Portfolio Manager, Investments, serves as a member of Oakworth's investment team, responsible for managing client portfolios, contributing to investment strategy, and serving as a designated Investment Officer for client relationships. This role partners with Wealth Client Advisors, participates on the Investment Committee, contributes to thought leadership initiatives and helps advance Oakworth's investment platform and service offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college in Finance, Economics, or similar major.
  • 10+ years of experience in Investment Management
  • Series 65 preferred at time of hire; required within 6 months of employment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential client matters.

  • CFA, CFP, or MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage client investment portfolios in accordance with client objectives, risk tolerance, and Oakworth's investment philosophy.
  • Serve as an active member of the Investment Committee, contributing to the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of Oakworth's investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
  • Proactively monitor portfolio performance, market conditions, economic trends, and investment opportunities, making recommendations and adjustments as appropriate.
  • Serve as the designated Investment Officer for assigned client relationships and provide investment guidance to clients, prospects, and associates.
  • Partner with Wealth advisors on client meetings and annual investment reviews, communicating portfolio performance, asset allocation decisions, and market insights.
  • Partner closely with Wealth Client Advisors across all markets to deliver a coordinated and exceptional client experience.
  • Develop market commentary, economic analysis, thought leadership content, and investment insights for clients, prospects, and associates.
  • Participate in business development activities, including prospect meetings, investment presentations, and proposal support.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Technology, Compliance, Finance and Wealth Management teams to enhance investment systems, reporting capabilities, and portfolio management tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve investment processes, service delivery, and operational efficiency while supporting the evolution of Oakworth's investment platform.
  • Contribute to the development of new investment solutions, strategies, and client offerings that support organizational growth and client needs.
