About The Position

BPC is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to work in BPC’s Energy Program. The successful candidate’s focus area will be permitting reform but will also work on other energy topics. BPC’s Energy Program brings together political leaders and policy experts to produce reports and recommendations and works with stakeholders and officials from both the private and public sectors to advance important policy objectives. The Senior Policy Analyst position is versatile, and will work on a variety of tasks, often simultaneously. Candidates should be able to learn about new and evolving policy issues, interact with policy experts and political leaders, and lead stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong policy background with knowledge of the energy and environmental landscape, key stakeholders, and technologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4 years of work experience or relevant advanced degree with 1 or more years of work experience
  • Excellent quantitative and research skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Strong teamplayer with a collaborative spirit
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with often overlapping deadlines whilemaintaininga high degree of thoroughness and accuracy
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. BPC does not sponsor employment visas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on a range of energy and environmental policy issues with a focus on permitting reform
  • Primary responsibility for drafting major written work products, including white papers, reports, issue briefs, and fact sheets
  • Lead research and drafting of blogs and othersimilar products
  • Participate in and support engagement with stakeholders, senior fellows, projectprincipalsand BPC task force members
  • Support communications activities, including developing, writing,reviewingand editing collateral, including assisting with social media and other digital content
  • Work with BPC’s development team to draft grant proposals and reports, and to support other donor management needs
