About The Position

As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Global CI/CD Platform team, you will design, build, and maintain the organization's software delivery platforms — including GitHub, Harness, SonarQube, Snyk, and Nexus Repository — leveraging AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to support the platform infrastructure. You will be responsible for the configuration, customization, and operational health of these platforms to meet the needs of engineering teams across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across business units to gather requirements, design scalable solutions, and deliver reliable, secure CI/CD capabilities. The emphasis is on automation, developer experience, and platform reliability — enabling teams to ship software faster, safer, and more consistently. Your work will directly impact how the organization builds, tests, secures, and delivers software at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent education/experience, with 5–7 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role focused on CI/CD and developer tooling.
  • Experience administering CI/CD toolchains including pipeline orchestration (GitHub Actions, Harness, Jenkins), code quality/security scanning (SonarQube, Snyk), and artifact management (Nexus Repository, Artifactory) — or equivalents.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and on-premises builds and deployments.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) provisioning and management.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container image lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical skills including Git workflows and branching strategies, YAML-based pipeline-as-code, and scripting (Python, Bash/Shell, Groovy, or similar).
  • Experience supporting platforms at enterprise scale across multiple regions or business units.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking to business demands.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across time zones with global teams.
  • Flexibility, adaptability to change, and a continuous learning mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with API and webhook integrations to connect and automate across CI/CD toolchains.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to CI/CD infrastructure (proxies, firewalls, DNS, load balancers).
  • Experience with secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or similar).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in platform engineering, software supply chain security, and SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) creation and management.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service developer portals (Harness IDP, Backstage, or similar).
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar), including CI/CD platform metrics such as DORA metrics and build analytics.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar).
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
  • Experience with AI-driven DevOps practices and developer tools (GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub Copilot, AI-powered code review, automated PR summarization, predictive build analysis, or similar).
  • Experience with policy-as-code and governance automation tools (Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, GitHub repository rulesets, or similar).
  • Experience with GitOps practices and tooling (ArgoCD, Flux, Harness GitOps, or similar).
  • Experience with container supply chain security, including image signing and verification (Cosign, Sigstore, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and scale the organization's CI/CD platform toolchain — GitHub (Enterprise Cloud/Server), Harness, SonarQube, Snyk, and Nexus Repository — including platform upgrades, integrations, and day-to-day operational health.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, templates, and deployment strategies across multiple environments and business units.
  • Manage GitHub Enterprise administration including org policies, repository governance, SSO/SAML configuration, and audit logging.
  • Configure and maintain Harness CI/CD pipelines, connectors, delegates, and deployment strategies to support delivery teams across the organization.
  • Develop and implement platform strategies to improve efficiency through automation and enhance the developer experience.
  • Enable development teams to self-service CI/CD capabilities through documentation, reusable pipeline templates, and standardized components.
  • Implement and enforce platform security controls including access management, secrets handling, and compliance with organizational security policies.
  • Monitor platform performance and health, troubleshoot technical issues, provide technical support for CI/CD services, and enable systems with automated monitoring and alerting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, build solution designs, and ensure scalability, resiliency, and efficiency of platform architectures — including responding to emerging requirements and ambiguous technology decisions.
  • Create system guidelines, process documentation, runbooks, and training materials for the organization.
  • Support tool consolidation efforts by migrating CI/CD pipelines, repositories, and artifact stores from disparate systems to the organization's centralized platform.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, support escalations, and upgrade planning for platform tooling.
