The Senior Platform Engineer is a senior-level technical expert responsible for architecting, engineering, and optimizing enterprise-grade cloud platforms that support mission-critical business services. This role drives innovation in cloud architecture, automation, security engineering, performance, and resiliency. The Senior Platform Engineer partners cross-functionally to deliver scalable, compliant, and highly available cloud solutions that align with corporate strategy and regulatory obligations. F.N.B. Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and maintain secure, scalable, enterprise cloud infrastructure platforms that support mission-critical applications and meet stringent operational and regulatory standards.
  • Architect highly available, fault-tolerant cloud solutions that align with resiliency, continuity, and recovery objectives while ensuring maximum system uptime and performance.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure-as-code, automation pipelines, and standardized deployment patterns to reduce operational risk, improve consistency, and accelerate delivery.
  • Integrate advanced security controls, identity and access management, network segmentation, and zero-trust principles into all platform designs to ensure compliance and minimize exposure.
  • Lead cloud cost-optimization efforts, monitor consumption trends, identify savings opportunities, and support observability engineering including logging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Drive disaster-recovery architecture, validation, and testing for cloud platforms.
  • Execute vulnerability remediation, patching, configuration hardening, and continuous compliance activities.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex cloud incidents, conducting deep-dive root cause analysis and implementing durable corrective actions across platform services.
  • Lead enterprise evaluations of cloud technologies, tools, and vendors, influencing platform strategy, sourcing decisions, and long-term architectural direction.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level platform engineers by providing technical leadership, reviewing solution designs, and setting engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure cloud solutions align with long-term technology strategy and reference architectures, leveraging strong expertise across compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
