Job Summary The Senior Platform Engineer leads the advanced administration and configuration of cloud infrastructure and application code delivery on the cloud platform. Oversees infrastructure as code (IaC) and drives automation of complex deployment and administrative tasks. Ensures robust security of cloud components and application code through established CI/CD pipelines. Leads efforts to perform upgrades, enhancements, and software migrations to drive the successful deployment of cloud infrastructure and application code through all required standards and controls. Facilitates the scalable deployment of cloud infrastructure and application code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 1 or more Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud DevOps Engineer, Certified Developer for Apache Kafka.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working across areas of the Platform engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience of cloud services and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively optimize cloud services for performance, identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strategically manage user permissions to ensure security.
  • Design backup strategies to maintain data integrity.
  • Keep comprehensive records of system configurations and changes for compliance and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the development of scripts for automated deployment.
  • Integrate automated tests in the CI/CD pipeline to proactively identify issues.
  • Resolve complex deployment issues and collaborate with developers to enhance code integration.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce downtime and boost efficiency.
  • Design and configure advanced monitoring tools and dashboards.

  • Ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
  • Regularly assess resource utilization for optimization.
  • Forecast future needs based on trends.
  • Develop plans for scaling resources in response to demand.
  • Ensure efficient allocation to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Continuously refine plans for changing needs.

  • Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
  • Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December.
  • You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
