Weir ESCO is seeking a Senior Plant Buyer for their Bucyrus, Ohio location. As a global leader in mining technology, Weir ESCO helps customers extract resources more efficiently and sustainably. This role is crucial in supporting the transition to renewable energy by ensuring the efficient supply of metals and minerals. The Senior Plant Buyer will play a key role in solving real-world challenges, applying their skills to deliver results that matter in engineering, planning, and customer support, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years’ experience working in Purchasing or Supply Chain.
Strong analysis, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
ERP experience; ideally with Oracle or SAP.
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to clearly communicate expectations with vendors and internal ESCO customers.
Must be able to travel globally (above 10% global travel and 10% regional travel).

Nice To Haves

Experience in supply chain or procurement within manufacturing or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end procurement and supplier management, including negotiations, contracts, and RFQs/RFPs, ensuring optimal cost, quality, service levels, and supply continuity.
Drive demand planning and inventory optimization through forecasting, MRP, and cross-functional alignment to ensure balanced stock levels, capacity planning, and efficient material flow.
Support inbound logistics and supply coordination to ensure timely material availability for operations and capital projects.
Lead process improvements across supply chain functions, addressing performance gaps, optimizing KPIs, and enhancing service, efficiency, and cost outcomes.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, aligning on supply-demand needs, performance metrics, and strategic objectives.
