About The Position

Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join the Network Planning Business Management team. The role will focus on collaborating and supporting our Network Planning teams with a dedicated focus on Network Program Controls, Capital Budget Management, Strategy Execution, and Communication. You will be responsible for providing support to Lumen in areas such as Strategic Project Management, WIP (work in progress) Transparency, Budget/Forecast Management, and Strategic Process Development and critical path management. Our Senior Planning Engineers manage high-profile programs directly supporting Lumen's Strategic Initiatives implemented by the Network Planning organization. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance organizations for Sales Expansion Projects, Data Center Enablement, and Greenfield Expansions, all driving New Revenue, NetEx Avoidance, and NetEx Recovery. This role is regarded as a subject matter expert and may act as a technical project leader. This is a work from home position within the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • 4+ years of related experience with a Master's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting with demonstrated proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Experience in analytical and data management tasks.
  • Proven ability to develop plans, prioritize activities, and drive execution.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience in network planning and strategic project management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage high-profile programs and work across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve a cross-functional role by providing weekly KPIs for all managed programs, showcasing capital spend and forecasting in addition to milestone oversight.
  • Complete process mapping and propose systems requirements to increase efficiency.
  • Develop forecasting methodologies, administrations, and executive-level presentations.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization, comfortable working across multiple layers of leadership.
  • Develop business analytics to improve forecasting and simplify reporting.
  • Identifies and champions change, new technology, applications, processes, and systems to align and enhance business priorities.
