The Senior Planning Engineer manages Mass Markets feeder fiber capacity planning and forecasting for a defined geographical area, translating build programs and growth demand into actionable strategies that support predictable delivery and disciplined capital deployment. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years of related experience with a Master's Degree
  • Strong experience in fiber network planning, preferably in Mass Markets environments
  • Strong knowledge of planning systems and tools (e.g., GSA, TIRKS, NDS, UPP CapCore) and proficiency with Copilot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to identify data sources, extract data, and independently recognize problems and solutions
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (voice/video meetings, email, and presentations)

Responsibilities

  • Manages Mass Markets feeder fiber planning, including capacity strategy, feeder sizing, and reinforcement identification to support customer growth and meet customer service level targets.
  • Maintains planning-level knowledge of legacy copper architecture and electronics (e.g. DSLAMS, cabinets, remotes) to assess impacts on capacity, service delivery and network transitions.
  • Aligns plans to capital budgets, priorities, and market strategies; develop cost-effective scopes and planning-level cost estimates informed by key cost drivers, constructability, and capital efficiency; initiate funded work packages to support Engineering execution.
  • Acts as technical planning SME across multiple platforms within Mass Markets; provides guidance and informal mentorship to junior planners.
  • Partners across Engineering, Construction, Operations, Program Management, and Finance to align scope, schedule, and funding and keep delivery on track.
