About The Position

As a member of Mott MacDonald's Programme, Project and Commercial Management (PPCM) team, you will lead planning and scheduling activities for complex major projects. You will be collaborating and communicating across large groups of stakeholders, including design team members, external consultants, construction contractors and/or supply vendors to understand and communicate issues/conflicts that impact the schedule. As a Senior Scheduler, you will also conduct and co-ordinate reviews of consultants, contractors, and vendor schedules, to ensure plans are realistic and achievable and will be the main point of contact for the projects pertaining to all scheduling processes.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of planning/scheduling experience, directly working on major projects related to infrastructure development or largescale building projects with high levels of complexity in project scope.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
  • Experience working on large construction projects preferred.
  • Experience with various procurement models and contract delivery types including lump sum, DB, PDB, DBB and P3 frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and the ability to present to senior levels of leadership in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to liaise with client, contractor, and team;
  • Proven ability to proactively identify and manage schedule risk and communicate in advance to project leadership.
  • Confident and able to develop and present key scheduling highlights at all stages of the project cycle.
  • Advance level skills with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Proficient with MS Project and Visio

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TILOS linear scheduling software is considered an asset
  • Experience with Acumen Fuse is a plus
  • Relevant certification with either AACE International or the Project Management Institute or equivalent is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and control large multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder engineering/construction project schedules
  • Develop and establish Work Breakdown Structures and Baseline Schedules
  • Review designers and contractors baseline schedules, monthly updates and earned value reports
  • Complete what-if schedule analyses and present results
  • Review construction contractor’s schedules, monitor progress against planned completion and contract milestones
  • Support critical activities such as Value Engineering (VE) studies, Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA), and claims (time entitlement analysis)
  • Coordinate and communicate across large multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder project teams
  • Implement best practices for schedule and schedule integration
  • Analyze schedules, identify critical paths, and propose recovery plans to project teams
  • Identify and track critical activities and follow-up with project teams
  • Perform earned value analysis
  • Perform Delay Analysis and develop delay report
  • Cost and resource load schedules
  • Write accurate and succinct schedule narratives and reports
  • Generate project reports (e.g., monthly reports, 3 and 6-week look ahead, and critical items list)
  • Develop and present schedule/cost analysis presentations (graphic, written, and verbal)
  • Resolve any issues raised by the planning/scheduling team
  • Identify opportunities for improvements
  • Mentor and coach other members of the planning/scheduling team
