The Senior Engineering Planner (New Product Planner) plays a critical role in supporting Product Engineering Teams by managing the documentation, part creation, and coordination activities required to successfully introduce new products into manufacturing. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as Supply Chain Management or Operations and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor product planning or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems and product lifecycle management tools in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS Certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent supply chain certification.
  • Experience with database tools such as Tableau and/or Microsoft Access

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage new product documentation based on input from multiple sources and track documents through the approval process.
  • Generate manufacturing part codes and associated customer part numbers, including all relevant data required to define how finished goods are manufactured.
  • Initiate and manage electronic work orders for starting or modifying engineering wafer lots in internal fabs, or raise purchase requisitions for external fabs, in alignment with Product Engineering needs.
  • Issue electronic work orders for probe, assembly, final test, and qualification processes for new product materials.
  • Coordinate closely with backend manufacturing teams, particularly Microchip Thailand to ensure timely product development support.
  • Create purchase requisitions for materials, including masks, wafers, equipment, and services required for engineering activities.
  • Track engineering materials from wafer start through to finished goods, ensuring visibility and timely progress across manufacturing stages.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary instructions and documentation to release new products to production within Microchip systems.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date part data is maintained across all relevant Microchip systems.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, manufacturing, information services, document control, mask shop, production planning, and wafer fabs.
  • Participate in product integration activities related to acquisitions, as needed.
