  • 2+ years previous digital media experience.
  • Knowledge of various channels and buying methods (video, display, programmatic, social).
  • Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics, and concepts.
  • Confidence within Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in negotiating and constructing digital media plans.
  • Competence within systems and tools related to the media planning process (i.e., media management system, billing system, competitive and targeting tools).
  • Mastery of third-party ad server and ad verifications (DCM, Double Verify, Innovid preferred).
  • Familiarity with biddable channels and partner direct.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist in RFP creation and review of partners/site responses, compile proposal analysis, and drive partner negotiations.
  • Ensure accuracy of insertion orders within internal systems to reserve advertising space, and is responsible for the accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery.
  • Collaborate with key partners during the planning process, including Partners, Creative Agencies, and biddable activation teams (e.g., Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic).
  • Work alongside other Horizon Media teams (Business Solutions, Investment, etc.) towards 360 partnerships, incorporating relevant extensions.
  • Monitor and report on media campaigns on an ongoing basis, providing active communication on optimization opportunities and challenges to internal teams, media partners, and the client.
  • Parse through partner ad verification and ad server data to provide critical thinking and analysis, draw conclusions, and discover actionable implications.
  • Provide data for dashboards/Excel trackers, ensuring accuracy and validity of data shown.
  • Effectively communicate optimization strategies, challenges, and opportunities across display, mobile, social, and video.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Horizon Media departments (Business Solutions, Traffic, Operations), clients, and vendors to facilitate problem-solving.
  • Maintain and adjust the timing of deliverables for the team, communicating changes to managers and leadership.
  • Apply knowledge of current/previous clients’ specific business and industry to enhance relationships.
  • Serve as a resource and trusted partner for clients.
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members (train Assistant Planners and Planners, onboard new Senior Planners).
  • Schedule check-ins with junior team members, identifying goals and opportunities for career development, and contribute to performance management.
  • Guide the team in setting goals, project tasks, and timelines.
  • Utilize past experiences to develop Planners' mentorship skills and abilities.
  • Provide education on best practices, media principles, and the industry.
  • Participate in the interview process for Assistant/Planner roles.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor on strategy, guiding assistants and planners in plan development.
  • Employ Horizon Media’s suite of planning, evaluation, and buying tools for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development, and reporting.
  • Ensure digital strategy aligns with overall brand communication goals.
  • Participate in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development.
  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities, and applications within digital environments and apply that knowledge to campaign strategy and client goals.
  • Guide and participate in the creation and presentation of media-specific documents such as media plans, objectives, and strategy decks.
  • Oversee trafficking and site tagging, ensuring sites are enabled and functioning properly.
  • Ensure accuracy of specs documents and that all materials are received from the creative agency.
  • Delegate and provide direction on campaign post-launch information (e.g., screenshots, links, placement information) to demonstrate proof of placement for clients.
  • Work alongside assistant media planners and media planners on mid-campaign reconciliation, billing, pacing, campaign validation, and brand safety.
