About The Position

Amentum Nuclear Projects is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, delivering safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction. We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to manage projects from concept through detailed design completion, leading engineering and design groups to meet project budgets and schedules. The role is based in Oak Ridge, TN, with potential for some travel. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to life-changing infrastructure.

Requirements

B.S. Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school.
Knowledge and experience designing process piping, gas piping and other related systems.
Demonstrated experience of delivering a range of projects from concept through detailed design completion.
Strong mechanical and process engineering analytical skills.
Experience leading groups of engineers and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.
Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1.
Design experience with AMSE B31.1 and B31.3 and ASME B&PV Code.
Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow – compressible and incompressible, thermal sciences, and process systems.
Competent using discipline specific technical software such as: AutoPipe, Caesar II, AutoCAD, Microstation, etc…
Competent using Microsoft Office software.
US citizen required.
Engineering Registration (PE) required.
Valid driver's license is required.
Ability to work in the Oak Ridge office is required.
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing pipe stress analysis highly desired.
Master’s degree is a plus.
DOE Q clearance is preferred but not required.
A person residing a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office is preferred.

Responsibilities
