About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support nuclear and commercial projects in a fully remote role aligned with its Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. The role is for an experienced mechanical or process engineering professional responsible for the design, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems and associated supports, and for supporting mechanical component, system, and piping design and analysis. The engineer develops engineering drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models; performs calculations using applicable engineering methods, codes, and regulatory requirements; specifies piping materials and components; and conducts piping stress analysis. The role also includes preparing technical specifications and requisitions, recommending vendors, and reviewing engineering documents, drawings, calculations, reports, design requirements, manuals, bills of materials, specifications, and data sheets. The position involves developing and implementing engineering analyses and programs to identify and resolve equipment and system problems, working with multidisciplinary project teams, and ensuring design integration across disciplines. The engineer may mentor junior colleagues and review their work. The role requires independent work with limited guidance, attention to assigned schedules and work quality, and the ability to resolve complex technical issues. Site experience in construction or commissioning of plant mechanical systems in nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset. Other duties may be assigned.
