Apptronik•Sunnyvale, CA
•$220,000 - $250,000

About The Position

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Perception Learning Engineer to develop advanced perception systems that enable its humanoid robots to understand and interact with complex human environments. The work focuses on SLAM, visual-inertial odometry, world modeling, learning-based perception, object detection, and multi-sensor fusion to support robust autonomy in real-world settings. The engineer will design and optimize deep learning models for real-time detection, tracking, segmentation, scene understanding, and state estimation, and contribute to scalable training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines. The role also involves combining camera, LiDAR, depth-sensor, and IMU data into unified world models for navigation, manipulation, safety, and human-robot interaction. This position balances research innovation with practical engineering to deliver deployable, high-performance SLAM and perception systems. The engineer will collaborate with Reinforcement Learning, Platform Software, Systems, planning, control, and hardware teams, and contribute to Apptronik’s perception and autonomy roadmap. The work supports humanoid robots operating safely in human spaces and adapting to dynamic environments.
