About The Position

KOHO is undergoing a significant transformation, moving from a traditional HR function to a modern People Enablement model. This approach treats the employee experience with the same rigor, ownership, and focus on friction reduction as great product teams treat user experience. The Senior People Business Partner is a crucial part of this system, involved in both strategy and execution. This role involves partnering with people managers to build high-performing teams, owning the infrastructure for reliable and scalable people operations, and continuously improving systems that shape the KOHO employee experience. Collaboration with Talent and Coaching teams is expected to achieve goals. This is a builder role for an autonomous individual accountable for outcomes, not a support role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Business Partnering, preferably with both Canada and the US markets.
  • Operate comfortably as a strategic owner, accountable for results.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing tasks and priorities.
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of HR policies and processes.
  • Comfort with AI, as KOHO is an AI Native organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to people managers across org design, performance, succession, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Bring a data-informed perspective to talent decisions, identifying risks early and shaping proactive responses.
  • Contribute to KOHO's 2026 People Enablement strategy, focusing on compensation, performance, and the full employee lifecycle.
  • Support the full employee journey from onboarding through transitions with consistency and care.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline People Ops workflows, leveraging AI and automation.
  • Ensure BambooHR data accuracy and integrity, acting as the steward of employee systems.
  • Stay current on legislation, trends, and best practices impacting compensation, benefits, immigration, and people operations in Canada and the US.
  • Translate regulatory changes into clear internal guidance without bureaucratic overhead.
