About The Position

Uplight is creating a new category of energy by developing software that manages energy resources in homes and businesses. This software optimizes smart thermostats, electric vehicles, solar panels, storage batteries, heat pumps, and user behavior to generate, shift, or save energy, thereby balancing the grid and increasing its efficiency and reliability. This process creates clean energy capacity, reducing the need for fossil fuels, accelerating the transition to clean energy, and saving money for energy customers. The company is seeking a Senior People Business Partner to contribute to its mission and lead the clean energy revolution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a People Business Partner in high-growth tech environments.
  • Direct experience advising at every level of leadership in the business.
  • Experience supporting remote or global teams.
  • Broad foundation across compensation practices, org design, employee relations, and employment laws.
  • Ability to translate complex policies and legal requirements into clear, sensible business practices.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations, build consensus, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle priorities and focus on the most important tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with supporting teams in India is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business outcomes by understanding assigned business units' operational goals, financial drivers, and challenges, and building tailored people strategies to advance those objectives.
  • Guide growth and change by leading org design, cultural initiatives, and change management to ensure teams remain resilient, aligned, and well-supported during periods of scale.
  • Turn insights into action by using HR metrics and employee feedback to identify friction points and partnering with leaders and the People Team to implement practical solutions.
  • Own core programs, including end-to-end execution for workforce planning, compensation, succession, and performance management across assigned groups.
  • Navigate complex employee issues with care, serving as a trusted advisor and continuously improving the playbook to mitigate risk and protect the company culture.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across business units.
