About The Position

Roblox is hiring a Senior People Business Partner to serve as the senior people strategist for its User group, a large, engineering-heavy organization spanning Social, Consumer Apps, and Live teams. The Senior People Business Partner sits on the group leadership team as a trusted advisor to the senior engineering leader and their staff. The role owns a multi-year people strategy that supports the group’s product roadmap while developing its leaders and workforce. A People Business Associate supports frontline managers, allowing this role to focus on organizational design, leadership bench, and group health. The position is part of the People Business Partner team in People & Systems and reports to the Senior Director, People Business Partner Lead. For roles based at Roblox’s San Mateo, California headquarters, the stated annual base salary range is $270,630–$304,420. The actual base pay may vary based on job-related factors. Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday unless otherwise noted. Full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and benefits, as described on the company’s benefits page.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in HR, people strategy, or organizational effectiveness, including significant experience as a senior PBP/HRBP partnering with VP-level leaders in engineering-centric, product-driven technology organizations.
  • Track record of organizational design and large-scale change, such as reorganizations, operating model shifts, or integrations affecting hundreds of people, with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience building and owning multi-year talent strategies, including succession and bench planning, workforce planning (build/buy/borrow), and leadership development that improved readiness metrics.
  • Strong analytical judgment; ability to work directly with people data, partner with People Analytics, and turn complex findings into clear narratives for senior leaders.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in one’s own work and curiosity about how AI is changing team design and the role of managers.
  • Executive presence and courage to influence senior technical leaders through credibility and evidence and deliver candid advice.
  • Discretion in handling highly confidential information and comfort operating amid ambiguity at the pace of a founder-led company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting consumer, social, or communications products at scale, or mobile and cross-platform app organizations.
  • Background in industrial-organizational psychology, organization development, or an equivalent evidence-based approach to how people work.
  • Experience in a PBP/associate or HRBP/HR generalist partnership model, including mentoring and close partnership with partner functions.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create User’s multi-year people strategy, translating product strategy into an annual people plan and talent roadmap addressing capability gaps, succession, future skills, and investment priorities.
  • Analyze and improve the group’s operating model, organizational design, spans and layers, and talent systems; build the case for structural change and carry it through.
  • Lead large, multi-team changes, including reorganizations, team integrations, and new operating rhythms.
  • Partner with senior leaders on long-term leadership capability and succession planning, ensuring development plans are implemented and treating RoGRO as one input rather than the endpoint.
  • Combine internal people data, including engagement, attrition, performance, and progression, with external research to develop forward-looking insights and help leaders interpret the evidence.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesis, and program design, and help leaders consider AI’s effects on team design, skills, and managers’ work.
  • Use people data to identify systemic barriers to engagement and inclusion, design interventions aligned with Roblox’s values, and hold senior leaders accountable for people commitments.
  • Shape hiring programs, capacity planning, and employer brand to help User attract and retain needed talent.
