About The Position

As a Senior People Business Advisor you will provide professional people support to assigned business areas and works closely with People leadership in the delivery of employee and labor relations services. The role conducts workplace investigations, supports the handling of employee relations matters and union grievances, and assists with the interpretation and application of company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable employment practices. Support workforce planning analysis and implementation, organizational and staffing initiatives, and collective bargaining activities, including research, preparation, and implementation of negotiated changes. The Senior People Business Advisor works with management to identify People-related needs, provide guidance on routine and moderately complex matters, and support consistent and effective application of People policies, programs, and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably including employee relations and/or labor relations.
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple work locations, including travel outside Puerto Rico, as business needs require.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and local employment laws and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, unemployment, workers’ compensation, and other requirements affecting the employment relationship.
  • Familiarity with employee and labor relations principles and practices, including workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and the administration of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and business information.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and fact-finding skills, with the ability to evaluate information and develop practical recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, cases, and projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to maintain accurate and complete case records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build productive working relationships with employees, managers, People team members, and other organizational stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and execute projects and assignments using available resources, established processes, and defined timelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other HR systems and technology used in the performance of the role.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation of People programs and initiatives designed to improve employee and management effectiveness, engagement, organizational performance, and business results, including workforce planning, organizational planning, change management, culture, and employee development initiatives.
  • Provides guidance and support to managers and supervisors on employee and labor relations matters and assists in building management capability to address workplace issues effectively and consistently.
  • Shares best practices, insights, and continuous improvement opportunities within the People function and supports the enhancement of People processes and practices.
  • Partners with People leadership on employee performance, conduct, disciplinary matters, grievances, and other employee and labor relations issues to promote consistent application of Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Conducts workplace investigations and gathers, analyzes, and documents relevant information to support appropriate resolution of employee relations matters.
  • Conducts employee exit interviews and communicates relevant trends or concerns to People leadership, as appropriate.
  • Provides guidance to management regarding employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance concerns, workplace conduct, and other People-related issues.
  • Gathers relevant background information and prepares disciplinary documentation. Maintains accurate and complete case files and supporting documentation and assists in responding to internal and external inquiries.
  • Supports the handling and investigation of union grievances and assists with the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Supports collective bargaining activities, including research, data gathering, preparation of materials, analysis, and implementation of negotiated changes.
  • Uses workforce and employee data to identify trends, support analysis, and provide data-informed recommendations to People leadership and business partners.
  • Supports workforce planning, organizational changes, staffing initiatives, layoffs, and other workforce actions, including analysis, coordination, and implementation activities.
  • Reviews and assists in updating People policies and practices to support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and Company requirements.
  • Supports compliance with applicable employment and labor laws and regulatory requirements, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Provides People support for employment actions and processes, including status changes, terminations, workplace incidents, unemployment matters, layoffs, and related activities, as required.
  • Represents the Company, as appropriate, in unemployment proceedings, administrative matters, investigations, and other personnel-related proceedings.
  • Completes assigned projects involving research, analysis, reporting, process development, communications, and documentation in support of People and business priorities.
  • Supports special projects and other Employee and Labor Relations initiatives, as assigned.
  • Demonstrates and maintains compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, Liberty Latin America policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, and applicable safety standards and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
