About The Position

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Senior PD Coordinator to drive product-development efficiency and manage seasonal and delivery timing under the direction of the Sr. Category Manager. The role facilitates design’s vision by sourcing brand-appropriate yarns and trims, addressing material, pricing, and potential delivery issues during development and raw-material phases, and supporting design needs and business requirements. The coordinator collaborates with the Sr. Category Manager on sourcing strategy, development blueprints, and category calendars. The role also offers an opportunity to support team development through mentoring and training.

Requirements

  • 5–6 years of experience in apparel product development and/or production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adhere to development calendars, regularly analyzing results to identify opportunities.
  • Manage the supplier base from corporate and brand perspectives; review, maintain, and analyze factory development charts and resources, and maintain brand reporting to highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Receive, analyze, and manage brand line plans in support of business and product needs.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Category Manager on brand calendars and milestones, tracking seasonal calendar actualization and adjusting plans as business needs change.
  • Collaborate with the manager on raw-material and pre-style development, including stitch extensions, pre-costing, fabrics, washes, mock-ups, drapes, tailoring bodies, trims, and prints.
  • Prepare for Sketch Review, attend recap meetings, clarify style details, and develop strategies to deliver the design vision at the required price point. Coordinate with Design beforehand to identify and address potential roadblocks.
  • Prepare for Sketch Review wrap-around meetings, providing cross-functional team members with direction on outstanding information, initial cost concerns, line-plan adherence, and next steps.
  • Create intermediate target costs for brand-selected styles and communicate cost exceptions, aiming for alignment before tech-pack setup and ensuring assigned retail prices align with design expectations.
  • Review targets and collaborate with the Category Manager on vendor allocation before cost-exception meetings; work with the manager to gain cross-functional alignment on exceptions at the style level.
  • After final line assignment and unit allocation, manage target adjustments and supplier cost negotiations, review weekly progress with the manager, identify challenges, and consider total-delivery IMU in relation to year-to-date performance and goals.
  • Prepare for key milestone product-presentation meetings, coordinating with the direct report to gather information and reviewing exceptions with the Category Manager.
  • Maintain a proficient understanding of products in development, including stitch, gauge, yarn, and knitting construction.
  • Collaborate with the Production Coordinator on a seamless purchase-order handoff by gathering necessary information and recapping details for cross-functional team members at total-delivery and individual-style levels at POHO.
  • Manage the chase-development process for non-ESU programs, following a similar key-development-point process.
  • Mentor junior team members by providing coaching and insight.
