About The Position

A Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring payroll tax accuracy and maintaining compliance with tax regulations for the USA and Canadian payrolls. Maintains strong internal and external client relationships by addressing questions and escalations with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and professionalism. Demonstrates strong independent problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience and/or military experience
  • Combination of 4+ years of high volume full-cycle in-house multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax experience
  • Experience with federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as Canadian Provincial regulations
  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with our Payroll Tax Vendor, responsible for managing federal and multi-state compliance and managing appropriate deadlines to ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responsible for researching and resolving all tax notices with proper partnership with our tax vendor as well as communication to agencies, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax processes to ensure tax compliance.
  • Perform regular tax research to stay ahead of state and federal tax changes and properly train payroll specialists on changes to data entry.
  • Monitor internal company processes and provide recommendation of increased speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Investigate and respond to associate inquiries via timely communications and resolutions, utilizing our case tracking system, email, and telephone correspondence.
  • Within our HCM system ensure tax setups such as annual SUI rates, localities, new state taxes, etc. along with any corrections for associates, are actioned to ensure proper deductions and avoid W2 errors, negative wages, etc.
  • In partnership with the Compensation team, process daily and annual equity, along with auditing and reconciliation.
