About The Position

Veralto is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support the delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely payroll across the United States, while contributing to the evolution of the Global Payroll function. This role is part of Veralto’s Corporate HR Shared Services organization, within the Global Payroll team. The function is currently undergoing a transformation—from a decentralized structure into a more standardized and scalable global payroll model—focused on improving consistency, strengthening controls, and enhancing operational efficiency. While the role is fully remote, proximity to the Chicago area is preferred to support occasional office-related needs. The ideal candidate is a seasoned payroll professional with strong execution capabilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment. This role is well-suited for someone who brings a leadership mindset and ownership, even if they are not yet at a formal manager level.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in US payroll operations (multi-state, multi-entity).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • Strong experience with ADP platforms (Enterprise, eTime, Smart Compliance, Reporting).
  • Advanced knowledge of US payroll regulations (federal, state, and local).
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end payroll processes with accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPP certification (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with Workday or similar HCM systems.
  • Experience in shared services or global payroll environments.
  • Exposure to payroll transformations or process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership mindset, even in an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing across multiple US pay groups and legal entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Own key components of the payroll lifecycle, including data validation, reconciliations, issue resolution, and final outputs.
  • Support payroll execution within a Workday–ADP environment, including pre-work, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer complex pay components such as commissions, bonuses, equity transactions, severance, and retroactive adjustments in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor payroll timelines and proactively escalate risks when inputs are incomplete or delayed.
  • Perform payroll reviews and reconciliations to identify discrepancies before finalization.
  • Maintain SOX-compliant, audit-ready documentation and support audit requests.
  • Manage employee lifecycle payroll activities (new hires, changes, separations).
  • Respond to employee inquiries through shared inbox/ticketing processes.
  • Prepare payroll reports and support stakeholders with accurate and timely data.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to standardization and automation efforts.
  • Operate effectively in an evolving environment while maintaining strong control discipline.
