As a Senior Payroll Specialist at Donaldson, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, utilizing your expertise in multiple payroll applications for US and Canada. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington, MN office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of Payroll experience working in a Workday environment

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards
  • Certification in Payroll highly preferred (i.e.FCP/CPP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management experience including leading system implementations

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Workday software to process and manage payroll activities efficiently
  • Stay updated on Workday release system enhancements to execute best practices for payroll processing
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/weekly payroll for all employees
  • Review and verify Workday timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing
  • Analyze and investigate all tax notice discrepancies working with external 3rd party
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams for accurate general ledger and money movement entries
  • Timely execution of all executive compensation activity (LTIP, stock, RSUs etc.)
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Work closely with the HR teams to ensure timely execution of business processes seamless integration between HR and payroll functions
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our employees
