About The Position

Structure Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Payroll/GL Accountant with strong expertise in Payroll and General Ledger (GL) operations to join their Finance team. This role involves full ownership of the payroll process, serving as the primary contact for payroll and payroll tax matters, and contributing to the streamlining of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ADP TotalSource and NetSuite, thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and be dedicated to accuracy, compliance, and process excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (with an accounting concentration).
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with direct payroll ownership preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP TotalSource and NetSuite.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, including multi-state withholding, equity compensation taxation, and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2, 941s).
  • Experience with Equity Edge Online and understanding of equity reporting and related payroll tax withholding and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in US GAAP and payroll accounting principles; Proven experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end semi-monthly payroll process for U.S.-based employees via ADP TotalSource, and coordinate payroll for EMEA employees with an international payroll provider.
  • Process off-cycle payroll, including taxable event reporting for equity transactions (e.g., RSU vesting, stock option exercises, ESPP).
  • Monitor and resolve payroll tax issues, ensuring accurate withholding, reporting, and compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Strengthen internal controls surrounding the payroll process to maintain SOX compliance.
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries, including detailed department and time allocation, ensuring accurate payroll cost distribution across the organization.
  • Contribute to the monthly period-end close by reconciling payroll-related balance sheet accounts and verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Review employee expense report coding in Ramp prior to synchronization with NetSuite.
  • Partner with Finance and HR teams to support the payroll and monthly close process and implement efficiency and accuracy improvements.
  • Support general ledger tasks, such as preparing cash journal entries, bank account reconciliations, and others as needed.
  • Coordinate and provide PBC (Prepared by Client) documentation to external auditors in support of SOX testing, quarterly and annual financial audits.
