About The Position

YipitData is seeking a Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage US payroll operations and support benefits programs. This role involves accurate and timely payroll for over 500 employees, multi-state payroll compliance, benefits invoice reconciliation, and managing payroll for self-insured health plans. It's a hands-on position requiring close collaboration with Finance, People Ops, ADP, and benefits partners. The ideal candidate will act as an internal payroll subject matter expert, contributing to process improvements and scaling operations. This is a remote-friendly opportunity within the US, with expectations for East Coast work hours.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Direct responsibility for running payroll through ADP Workforce Now for a US workforce of at least 500 employees.
  • Experience managing multi-state payroll.
  • Experience reconciling benefits invoices.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and tax requirements.
  • Comfortable researching and resolving complex payroll and withholding questions.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration and invoice reconciliation.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies across payroll, HRIS, carrier, and vendor data.
  • Highly proficient with Excel or Google Sheets, comfortable with large datasets, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ownership of high-stakes, deadline-driven work.
  • Ability to build appropriate checks and controls into processes.
  • Clear, empathetic communication skills.
  • Ability to independently own recurring processes and exercise good judgment.
  • Proactive in looking for ways to make payroll and benefits administration more efficient, scalable, and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end US payroll processing for 500+ US employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Partner with Finance and People Ops to manage payroll inputs and changes, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and internal subject matter expert for payroll, resolving employee questions and liaising with ADP and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage multi-state payroll and tax requirements for a distributed workforce, including New York's Convenience of the Employer rule.
  • Own payroll and invoicing-related benefits administration, including employee deduction changes, QLEs, and coordination with the People Ops benefits team.
  • Review and reconcile benefits invoices and self-funded plan activity, validating eligibility, enrollment, deductions, and fees.
  • Own payroll and benefits reconciliations and support month-end, year-end, W-2 preparation, open enrollment, benefits renewals, and audits.
  • Maintain strong documentation and controls, identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and scaling of payroll and benefits processes.
