About The Position

The Senior Payroll Associate position provides audit and input of assigned academic and nonacademic transactions, functioning as the primary source for payroll and personnel policies and procedures. This role advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll-related issues, processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel, and assists new employees with completing necessary forms. The position is also responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas, and may assist supervisors with the hiring process, maintaining leave records, preparing cost-transfers and journals, and maintaining personnel and payroll files. Additionally, the role may assist with the annual budget process, ensure the accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports, and administer the academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

Responsibilities

  • Advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll related issues.
  • Processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel.
  • Assists new employees with completing the appropriate new hire, payroll and benefit forms.
  • May provide general orientation for new employee.
  • Responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas.
  • Assists supervisors with the hiring process including job requisitions, PHS entry and appointment screening.
  • May maintain sick and vacation leave records for staff personnel.
  • Prepares cost-transfers and journals adjusting when necessary.
  • Maintains personnel and payroll related files for department.
  • May assist supervisors with documentation needed for employee evaluation process.
  • May assist in annual budget process.
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports.
  • Administers academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.
