Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll processing and/or payroll administration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience performing payroll audits and reconciliations in a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting payroll tax and compliance requirements.
  • Experience processing payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees across multiple states.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and adapt to changing business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Paylocity and/or ADP
  • Experience identifying and improving payroll processes
  • Payroll certification such as CPP

Responsibilities

  • Review payroll data, perform audits and reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll finalization.
  • Support accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Research and resolve complex payroll inquiries, adjustments, and escalations with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Partner with the Payroll & Administration Manager to support daily payroll operations and priority initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll procedures, internal controls, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements.
  • Maintain organized payroll records, documentation, and audit-ready files.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll-related changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, and improvement opportunities to strengthen payroll accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Support payroll system updates, testing, implementations, and process enhancements.
  • Provide guidance and support to payroll team members as needed.
  • Handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion and sound judgment.
