About The Position

This position is responsible for overall direction, implementation, execution, control, and project management of enterprise-wide projects and internal initiatives for the Payment Servicing division, including the research and development of new concepts, ideas and applications ensuring consistency with credit union strategy, commitments, and goals. This position is also responsible for coordinating the implementation of various products, services and/or systems changes/upgrades of a highly complex nature and serves as a single point of contact for those projects. The Senior Payments Project Coordinator helps provide input into the formation and refinement of end-to-end project, leveraging experience from the various payments business and technical units. This position provides input into the formation and refinement of end-to-end project and service management frameworks, leveraging experience with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), research techniques, project management skills, analytical skills and broad knowledge of financial institution experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Computer Science is strongly preferred. Advanced Degree in Business Administration or other related area is preferred.
  • Minimum eight years of combined experience in project analysis, coordination and management with a minimum of five years of experience directly managing projects. Experience managing moderate complexity projects end-to-end required, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of the job functions related to Payments (ACH, Checks and Wire) products and services
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to use logical reasoning when interpreting facts.
  • Ability to make independent, objective observations, examinations, evaluations, and recommendations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible, multi-task and manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to meet project and validation deadlines.
  • Strong personal computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Independent work methods, ten key,
  • Accurate and timely data entry input needed.
  • Experience with Fiserv Data Safe and associated systems required.

Responsibilities

  • Simultaneously lead several complex enterprise projects and division initiatives with varied deliverables, team members, and audiences requiring ongoing prioritization and relationship management.
  • Define Project scope, goals, and deliverables that support internal business area goals in collaboration with business process owners, vendors, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change while working projects, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
  • Develop project plans, project schedules and estimates, resource plans, and other documentation necessary for successful project completion.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders, including leadership on progress and problem situations, risks, and issues in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate the resources needed to achieve project goals, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve or escalate issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, devise contingency plans, and track deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor and motivate project team members and vendors, and influence them to take accountability and positive action for their assigned work. Provide focus and direction to team members to reach targets and deadlines.
  • Support other project coordinators and project managers assigned to enterprise projects to ensure collaboration.
  • Develop or Assist in Request for Proposals (RFP), including business needs and product/service expectations.
  • Work with business owners to assess vendor products and interfaces impacted by projects and make recommendations for cost effective, efficient improvements.
  • Direct, develop, follow-up and monitor the progress and activities of all project team members. Conduct project meetings and maintain project tracking. Provide focus and direction to team members to reach targets and deadlines.
  • Conduct project lessons learned and identify any post-go-live tasks remaining.
  • Assist department leadership as needed and performs other related duties as assigned.
