About The Position

The Senior Paralegal will provide substantive and administrative support to in-house litigation counsel in managing a multistate litigation and pre-litigation portfolio. This role involves matter management, drafting and reviewing legal documents, coordinating discovery and legal holds, responding to subpoenas, maintaining deadlines and case records, supporting depositions and trials, and communicating with outside counsel, business partners, courts, and vendors. The position requires exercising independent judgment within established procedures and serving as a resource to other legal support professionals. Requirements

  • Certified Paralegal
  • Typically requires 5+ years of related work experience
  • High school diploma required

Responsibilities

  • Provides substantive and administrative support to in-house litigation counsel in managing a multistate litigation and pre-litigation portfolio.
  • Performs matter management, drafting and reviewing legal documents, coordinating discovery and legal holds, responding to subpoenas, maintaining deadlines and case records, supporting depositions and trials, and communicating with outside counsel, business partners, courts, and vendors.
  • Exercises independent judgment within established procedures.
  • Serves as a resource to other legal support professionals.
  • Performs substantive legal work under the guidance and supervision of an attorney.
  • Assists attorneys by analyzing and preparing legal documents.
  • Performs routine legal research and compiles data from such references.
  • Understands how own team integrates with related teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team through own work.
  • Recognizes and solves atypical problems that occur infrequently.
  • Evaluates and selects solutions from existing precedents or procedures.
  • Communicates and explains complex information, including interdependencies within the team and others.
  • Works under limited supervision and may use discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency.
  • Acts as an individual contributor and resource for less experienced team members; does not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
