About The Position

We're looking for an experienced Senior Paralegal to join us on a contract through late March or early April. This is much more than a traditional corporate paralegal role. You'll own core legal operations, corporate administration, contract workflows and regulatory documentation while helping us build a more scalable Legal function. You'll work directly with the General Counsel and leadership team and have significant autonomy to improve processes, introduce efficiencies and leverage AI wherever it creates value. We're looking for someone who enjoys figuring things out, brings strong judgment and can quickly become a trusted partner to the business.

Requirements

  • Certified paralegal or equivalent Canadian corporate law clerk/paralegal qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting an in-house legal team or law firm.
  • Strong experience with corporate governance, corporate records, commercial contracts, and legal administration.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and bringing structure to ambiguous problems.
  • Curious about technology and excited to use AI and automation to improve the way legal work gets done.
  • Excellent written communication, judgment, and discretion.
  • Fluency in English is required due to the percentage of English-speaking customers and the nature of our platform, which is available to all Canadians.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, crypto, banking, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience building legal operations, improving workflows, or implementing legal technology.
  • Experience supporting a fast-growing startup or scaling company.
  • Familiarity with procurement, vendor contracts, external counsel management and regulatory work.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day legal operations and corporate administration.
  • Maintain corporate records, minute books, governance documents, annual filings, and entity records.
  • Prepare, review, organize, and coordinate execution of contracts, NDAs, signature packages, templates, and other legal documentation.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives through document management, evidence collection, licensing and registration work, and regulatory responses.
  • Manage legal intake, priorities, deadlines, and matter tracking.
  • Improve how Legal operates by building better templates, playbooks, workflows, knowledge management, and AI-enabled processes.
  • Partner with teams across the company to help legal work move efficiently.
